Baby Nova

Baby Nova is a genre-defying artist and songwriter hailing from Nova Scotia, whose debut singles with Artist Partner Group have already garnered immense editorial support from Spotify, landing on playlists like New Music Friday, Lorem, Fresh Finds, Chill Pop, All New Pop, Pop All Day, Indie All Stars, Indie Pop & Chill, and many others.

In her upcoming debut project - executive produced by Lowell (co-writer on Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em” and “Bodyguard”) and co-produced by Gus van Go (The Beaches, The Stills, Arkells, Metric) - Baby Nova draws inspiration from electronic pop-folk icons like Lana Del Rey and Ethel Cain. Her unique aesthetic, captured by her Spotify bio proclaiming she’s “God’s sugar baby” and her Instagram tagline as “your deadbeat daughter,” reflects a tongue-in-cheek reclaiming of power after a challenging past. Nova’s memorable hooks and raw, poetically gritty lyrics make her one of the most exciting and honest new voices to watch.

Chris LaRocca

In a previous life, Chris LaRocca was a fixture in Toronto’s DIY scene, playing sweaty basements around North America with his post-hardcore band. As that chapter of his sound slowly faded intothe rearview, LaRocca transitioned from the stage to thestudio, establishing himself as a dynamic producer and sought-after collaborator for top-shelf names like Kali Uchis, Bryson Tiller, Russ, and Stray Kids.

He soon caught the attention of GRAMMY-nominated, JUNO Award-winning producer, WondaGurl, joining her Wonderchild roster in partnership with Red Bull Records. His first full-length, i cried my eyes out, featured the song “linger”, which he brought to the screen in a heart-wrenchingly beautiful short film that won a Cannes Lion, among other accolades.

While he’d come a long way from his DIY days, there was a part of LaRocca yearning for the music that reflected his authentic identity. “I started listening to a lot of The Band, Steely Dan, The Byrds–they were all such big influences and I was looking for parallels between their world and mine.”

He found in a year of self-discovery, the music that was most true to his character wasn’t thechaotic, brain-melting noise of his early punk years. Instead, it was deeply rooted in introspectivesongwritingwith notes of untamed exploration and refined energy. Going into 2024, he relocatedfrom Toronto to the Canadian wilderness to follow the Americana, rootsy sounds that were callingto him. Stay tuned for a new era of Chris LaRocca.
